Owens & Porter PLLC
Psychiatric, Mental Health, and Addiction Services
Owens & Porter is unique psychiatric service. We offer comprehensive mental health, psychiatric, and addiction treatment services in the comfort, security, and privacy of your own home, your place of business, or in our Fort Collins office.
After several years in outpatient offices and hospitals, I decided it was time for a change. I envisioned a practice truly centered around the individual, free from the constraints of insurance companies and traditional healthcare administration. I wanted a practice built from the ground up to allow for more time with each person we treat, a practice whose main goal is treating a few people really well instead of many people really quickly.
-Robert D. Owens PMHNP-BC, founding partner of Owens & Porter PLLC
From this vision grew what would become Owens & Porter PLLC. We offer the same services you would find at a traditional psychiatrist's office: therapy, counseling, medication management as well as medication-assisted addiction treatment but with options for in-home and telepsychiatry in addition to our office-based services.
Why do some people opt for in-home care instead of the traditional office setting? Our Clients choose this option for a number of reasons. A lot of our clients live busy lives and do not have time to leave work for an appointment, or have precious little time with their friends and families and don't want to waste a moment driving to and from a doctor's appointment or in waiting rooms. For others it helps alleviate the stigma against seeking mental health treatment.
Our goal with this model is to maximize our time together by treating you where and when you are most comfortable. This model also allows us the flexibility in scheduling to be able to offer nights, weekends, as well as meet you wherever, and often whenever, you may need us.

The Answers You Need
Do you have a client referral program?
There is no better advertising than a positive review from a friend or loved one. When you recommend us to a friend you will receive a $200 credit toward future service after that person completes their intake appointment.
What if I am not satisfied with Owens & Porter's services?
The path to positive mental health is a very personal journey and it is crucially important to have the right people along with you on the journey. We understand that we are not right for everyone and are more than happy to make referrals/recommendations for who might be a better fit for you.
How do I bill my insurance?
We will gladly provide you with what is referred to as a 'superbill' detailing what areas were covered, the length of the appointment, cost of the session, and the corresponding CPT code. (The CPT code is the 5 digit code used by insurance companies to determine reimbursement rates.)
It is worth noting these 'bills' would potentially include private information.
Is there a way to reduce the cost?
Our services can be expensive and may not be for everyone. To properly understand our in-home fee structure it is important to understand that most traditional providers see anywhere from 12 to 20 clients per day; while ours may only see 2-3 on most days. This translates to a much more personal approach and closer relationship with your provider.
Cancellation/Missed Appointment Policy
Any appointment canceled within 24 hours, or in the instance of a 'no show', the full appointment fee will be charged.
This charge is nonrefundable but can be converted to a credit on a one time basis after 2 consecutive appointments are completed and minus a $50 rescheduling fee. This credit can not be used toward a future 'no show' or 'late cancel' fee.
What if I am late to my appointment?
Appointments will need to be rescheduled if:
You are more than 5 minutes late to a 20-minute appointment.
You are more than 10 minutes late to a 30-minute appointment.
You are more than 15 minutes late to a a 60-minute appointment.
In what areas are in-home services available?
Our general service area consists of the Highway 25 corridor from southern Denver to the Wyoming border and the surrounding communities. We do offer services to communities outside of this area but additional fees may apply. Contact us for more details.
